Home

Home - this is something we often take for granted or do not appreciate the impact that it has in our lives. A place that we can be ourselves, rest, find a little solitude, feel safe and secure. Home is more than just a shelter or place to sleep, it is a place of refuge, healing, growing, living, laughing, and finding a place that is your own. It is our human nature to yearn for Home, as Christ followers we are constantly reminded that this world is not our permanent home (Heb 13:14) and we all know this longing for HOME!

This basic necessity of life is often not a true reality for many, Our students have spent years going from one place to another. Finding friends or distant relatives that will house them for a few days, weeks or months until they need to move on. They have lived out of bags, never really having their own space, beds, or place that belongs to them. They have not had the security that tomorrow they know they will still have a place to lay their heads. How different would your life look if you never knew you had a safe, secure, and sure place to go everyday? What added anxiety and insecurities would that create?

We are thrilled that we have secured an apartment for Kojo and Ernest to share. They now have a place to call home. A place they can make their own, and have the security to grow and mature in other areas of their lives instead of just survive. Ernest officially moved in on Saturday and Kojo will be joining him this weekend. It is nothing spectacular, a simple 1 bedroom with an outdoor kitchen but it is stable, secure and furnished with basic necessities.

Saturday Akolgo helped get Ernest moved in and had a time of prayer over the apartment. Will you commit to join us this week in prayer over this new home? Pray for the boys to first and foremost have deep intimate times with the Lord here. Pray protection and provision for them as they make this place a home. Finally pray for them to be a LIGHT to those around them and they will share of God's goodness in their lives so that HE receives all the glory. If you will pray with us this week leave a comment and let us know!

Thank you to all that have committed to monthly or one time gift donations that have enabled us to give these young men a HOME! If you are interested in making a direct and eternal impact on these young men's lives please consider monthly giving. You can easily donate on our website and even set up automatic monthly giving. A $15 investment provides for their electricity, water and trash for the entire month, $50/month will cover their transportation cost and about $200/month would completely cover all the basic monthly needs per student. We are grateful for the Lord's constant provision through each and every dollar that is donated.

Kojo and Ernest relaxing in their new HOME!
