Finally...Moved IN!

We all know how the moving process goes...it is never quite as easy as it seems it should be! There is always those things that were not quite what you thought they would be. Extra projects, a few hundred trips to Home Depot for..... This seems to be an international dilemma, the details may look very different but the process is the SAME! When I left Ghana the house seemed almost ready, fully furnished and set up to receive inhabitants but as life tends to have it a few things popped up!

First, we discovered that there is no water flow from the water company, only the tank in the back that you can fill to get running water in the house....this was not what we were told so we started investigating if we can get the main water line tapped. We are still in the process of figuring all that out and appreciate your prayers to get this resolved quickly! In the mean time we have found someone that can fill the tank for us so the boys can have water.

The next little bump in the road was when the electricity just decided to stop working! We again postponed the boys moving in and began to investigate. Turns out it was a simple solution just took a week to figure it out! Praise God it was nothing major just an annoying delay.

After all that we finally were able to welcome the boys to their new home yesterday!!! It is a relief to finally have them under a safe clean roof where they can began to find rest, build dreams, establish a secure and firm foundation in faith and life, and look towards the future with hope, joy and possibility. We are excited to introduce you to our two new students, Edmund and Kwesi!

Edmund is a quiet gentle giant, he is gracious and incredibly intelligent. Edmund is a deep thinker and while he may be quiet at times he is not afraid to ask the hard questions or express his thoughts. He grew up most of his years in an orphanage near the Accra area but for the last several years has been depending on a kind pastor who was allowing him to stay at the church while he worked and tried to earn enough money to survive as well as save some money for tuition so he could go to university to study civil engineering. Edmund has not ever given up on pursuing more for himself even when those around him gave up on him. He has proven his willingness to work hard, as well as to keep pursuing a relationship with Jesus despite his circumstances. We can not wait to see how God will move as Edmund finds the freedom to chase his dreams and find community that will encourage and support him.

Kwesi is gracious servant, he is quick to jump in a help do anything he can. He is constantly expressing his gratefulness and is eager to learn. Unlike the other students we have so far that grew up near Accra, Kwesi grew up in a small village in the Bono East region, which is located near the center of Ghana. He did well in school and his family worked hard to provide the little they had for him to complete Senior High School (SHS). He has had little opportunities for deep spiritual growth but knows Jesus and has been so eager to study and learn in his devotion times. He is brave and ready to embrace this new opportunity to learn, grow and discover more about the Lord and what HIS plans are for his life. Kwesi is currently narrowing down what possible courses of study he would be interested in and will hopefully be starting some extra English classes soon to help strengthen his English understanding. God is going to transform Kwesi's life in remarkable ways as he explores and investigates who God is and the giftings God has given to him for His good purposes.
