A few weeks ago, just prior to Christmas we welcomed Nathaniel to the Etwene family! He jumped right into all the festivities and activities of the Christmas season and bonding with his new brothers in the house quickly. Nathaniel is courteous, compassionate and kind.
Growing up as a child, he had a loving home with his grandmother that treated him as her own and provided all he needed. He cherished her and she gave all she had to support him. Unfortunately when he started senior high school she tragically passed and life became very challenging and unpredictable for Nathaniel. He managed to finish SHS and worked pounding fufu, a local dish made with cassava. A friend of the family took him in so he had a temporary place to stay but he had no real way to thrive and build a better future for himself, he was just trying to survive. One of our other students became friends with him and that is how we discovered Nathaniel.
Nathaniel is interested in becoming a car mechanic and God graciously has allowed us to get him quickly registered into a trade school which started this week! He is excited to get back to school and begin his education. Nathaniel has expressed interest in serving in the usher ministry at their church and will be attending the membership class in the near future. his kind smile will be sure to welcome anyone into worship!
Please pray for Nathaniel and all the boys as they get their classes started for the semester and get back into school routines. We ae also in the process of filling our last 2 openings in our program and would appreciate your prayers as we search for the right young men to join us.
